Marriage is the covenant between a man and a woman in the eyes of the Church. It establishes a partnership for the rest of their early lives, so that spouses can help and support one another and any children God may give them.

Why is Holy Matrimony Important?

Catholic marriage is strengthened by divine grace so that it becomes a living expression of the love between God and His Church. Marriage within the Church seals the spouses' consent to give themselves to each other through the offering of their own lives by uniting it to the offering of Christ for his Church for his Church in the Eucharist.
