St. Isidore CARES is a faith based program open to all in grades K-5. When we say “open to all,” we mean all, regardless of what religion (or no religion) practiced in the home.
Our Mission at CARES is to help children learn the value of caring for others.
Taking our inspiration from the life of Jesus of Nazareth, Isidore CARES aims to help children understand what it means to love their neighbor, who their neighbor actually is (shhh, it’s EVERYONE), and to be kids who care for others, in thoughts, words, and action.
Each day will contain time for reflection, gratitude, kindness call outs, and of course a selection of options including but not limited to: arts and crafts, physical activities, board games, puzzles, toys, and even age-appropriate movies or screen time on occasion. With the goal of fostering an understanding of the value of serving others, each week, the children will help as we assemble materials for our partnership with Lazarus House Shelter and Soup Kitchen in Lawrence.
The program will run every NRSD school day from 7AM - 8:30 AM and again from 3:30PM - 6PM. Each morning the children will walk with a staff member from St. Isidore over to Center School and each afternoon they will be picked up at Center as "walkers" and walk over to the church as a group. Caregiver pickup and dropoff will be at the back doors to St. Isidore Church at 429 Great Rd. in Stow.
